It all started with a swipe.


Fate (and Hinge) brought us together, and from the very beginning, there was an undeniable connection between us. Our first date was breakfast at Huckleberry’s on Father’s Day. Over two hours passed without us knowing how the time went by so quickly. We knew it was a good date because Alexandria gave Joe one of her amazing brownies, which she had brought as a gift to only be given if the date went well, securing Joe’s affection.


We have gone on many adventures together, from shooting a pumpkin cannon at a corn maze, to Thanksgiving at Disneyland, exploring historical sites like Black Diamond Mines, and spending a day at beautiful Point Bonita Lighthouse. We have had fun at several Stockton Ports and Modesto Nuts games, regardless of the fact that Alexandria only sort of paid attention to the games themselves. We fed giraffes at the Fresno Zoo, which Joe really enjoyed despite being sure he had no desire to participate. We even successfully made homemade mozzarella completely from scratch and turned it into pizza!


As a lawyer and an engineer, we challenge each other intellectually, which keeps life interesting with debates, deep conversations, and a shared curiosity for the world. Alexandria may drive Joe crazy at times, but in return, she has taught him patience. And Joe, with his unwavering kindness and steady heart, has shown Alexandria what a great man can be—the kind she never knew existed. Joe and Alexandria have been each other’s coach and biggest supporter through challenging career moves that brought them closer to their personal and professional goals. These moments gave them the confidence to take their relationship further and made marriage a real next step.


So when the time came to take that next step, there was no better place than where our relationship began. At Huckleberries, Joe asked, and Alexandria said yes. The proposal completely surprised her, even though she had been waiting for Joe to propose for weeks!


Now, we are excited about the adventure ahead and we can’t wait to share this next chapter with all of you.
